Shooter

Shooter was used in a therapeutic riding program until it was time for him to retire. It isn't an easy job for horses so it is important to recognize when they are ready to be done. Circle F Horse Rescue Society took him in along with his friend Domino.

Shooter enjoyed three years with them despite several health issues. He had foundered in the past as his coffin bone had some rotation, he was diagnosed with PPID and EORTH leaving him with only three good teeth. This summer he began to decline and it was clear his time had come. He was lovingly given the Last Act of Kindness as they didn't want to see him struggle through another winter. He was 29, a good long life for a horse. We were so pleased to support them with our Humane Euthanasia Grant.

Our grants mean so much to horse rescue organizations. It eases the financial strain of veterinary expenses, saving their precious funds for other needs like hay.
