Every horse is special but there is something extra special about the ones who are part of any therapeutic riding program. Libby was with Pony Pals Therapeutic Riding Association since its inception in 2002. Such a good pony, she helped hundreds of children gain mobility, freedom and a sense of true confidence and joy. She helped children to discover and experience independence as well as a place where they belong in this world. The children she helped were from 4-12 years old, some fragile medical conditions who required full assistance on a lead with support, to those with neurodivergencies, to survivors of abuse to those with anxiety disorders. Thanks to Libby they learned to ride independently in a safe place in this world.
Libby unexpectedly became very ill with rapidly moving anaerobic infection in her mouth. It quickly became very serious and all the top-end medications and vet care were unable to get it under control. Once their vet realized it was a non-treatable infection, Libby was lovingly given the Last Act of Kindness to end her suffering. She will be greatly missed and the loss of her will be felt for a long time, though her positive impact on this world will be felt much longer. We were so pleased to be able to support them with our Humane Euthanasia Grant.
Please join us in expressing our deepest gratitude for all that Libby gave of herself and our condolences to Pony Pals for their loss. Thank you to our supporters, it is your donations that help ease the financial burden of urgent medical care for all horse owners and horse organizations across the country.
