We are heartbroken for this little one đź’”
Sweet Min was in the care of an elderly gentleman. The community saw that he wasn't taking proper care of him and the other ponies and came together to rescue them. We are so grateful for their actions as long term neglect leads to terrible suffering.
Min was taken in by Tiny Tales Pony Rescue as an emergency rescue. Unfortunately he was in a lot of pain and it was evident that even with icing and other treatments that he wasn't experiencing any relief. His hooves had been trimmed in a way that caused severe damage. He had foundered to the point of recovering wasn't possible. When he was seen by the vet it was immediately evident that the only thing that could be done to ease his suffering was to give him the Last Act of Kindness. He was approximately 18 years old. As a miniature horse he should have had many years still ahead of him.
Too often minis are not given the care they need. While they are horses, they require a modified feed program to keep them and their hooves healthy. And like any horse, they need regular hoof trimming by qualified, experienced farriers.
Many thanks to our supporters for making it possible to have provided Tiny Tales Pony Rescue with our Humane Euthanasia Grant.
