Another very fortunate horse

This beautiful mare used to pack people around the mountains of Alberta. Then she found herself with a family who had hoped to be a good mount for them and their children. But soon after she arrived they realized she was struggling with her vision. She became quite spooky and difficult to catch. Thankfully, that did not put them off and she stayed with them for another 5 years, enjoying lush pasture, grooming and lots of love. When the time came that her ailing body caught up with her, she was lovingly given the Last Act of Kindness at the ripe old age of 29.

We are so grateful to her family for keeping her even though she didn't quite meet their expectations. They gave her a wonderful and most deserving retirement. It meant a lot to them to give her a dignified end after a lifetime of service. We were so pleased to be able to support them with our Humane Euthanasia Grant.
