A loving promise

We are so grateful to have been able to support the owner of this very loved horse with our Humane Euthanasia grant. He had a wonderful life with his person for many years, a senior on a pension who promised him that they would age together. We don't know of a more loving promise to make to a horse. When was clear that his time had come, his owner once again proved her love and gave him the Last Act of Kindness.

We know keeping a horse for the rest of its live can mean a lot of sacrifice. But they are worth it and we are so grateful for horse owners who stand by their commitments instead of walking away and sending them to auction where an old horse is likely to enter the slaughter pipeline.
