A bonded pair

These two beautiful senior mares were very loved, though they were struggling with age related ailments. Their owner could no longer keep them and gave them to their farrier in the hopes that she would be able to rehabilitate them. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to relieve their suffering and they were given the Last Act of Kindness.

We want to acknowledge the love and devotion their owner had for them. He truly wanted what was best for them and gave them to someone he knew he could trust. We are thankful he didn't instead send them to auction where they no doubt would have ended up in the slaughter pipeline.

We also want to acknowledge the kindness of their farrier for taking them in. It takes a big heart to care for a horse in their greatest time of need. We were pleased to have supported them with our Humane Euthanasia Grant.
