Whiz came into the care of The Parsons Animal Rescue Foundation as an owner surrender in 2021. Her owner could no longer afford to provide for her but she didn't want to send her to auction. We are so grateful she reached out for help instead and that Parsons Animal Rescue had room. Whiz had spent most of her life as a reining horse, competing at various competitions on a variety of levels. She had a lot of life experience to offer the younger ones at the rescue and she embraced her new found role. Parsons Rescue had this to say about her ...
"Whiz, you truly were one of the spiciest little mares. You were as honest as the day is long and as loving as any Grandma could ever be. I’m grateful we were blessed with your presence these last few years. Thank you for being kind and caring. For watching over all the young girls in your herd, especially Sugar, and teaching them boundaries, respect, and unconditional love."
When Whiz arrived at their facility she was seen by a vet who discovered that she had been living with a significant heart murmur. She enjoyed a beautiful retirement in their mare pasture. Recently her heart was in the early stages of failure and she was lovingly given the Last Act of Kindness. We were honoured to have been able to support them with our Humane Euthanasia Grant.
