Lovingly spared from further suffering

It is always heart wrenching to say goodbye to a beloved horse but especially so when the horse is young and the owner has tried hard for months to get them healthy. This sweet mare was only 10 but her lameness issues were too severe for any hopes of recovery. Too often a horse like this is at very high risk of being sent to auction drugged up to hide the lameness issues from the unsuspecting new owner. When the severity of the lameness is later discovered the horse is once again at very high risk of being sent back to auction and purchased by a kill buyer.
We are so grateful to her owner for all the loving care and for giving her every chance to heal. In the end nothing more could be done and the best she give her horse was the Last Act of Kindness. We are thankful we could assist with our humane euthanasia grant.
