• the show horse who gets hurt and can't show anymore so the owner gives him to a lesson program only he is in too much pain from his injuries and bucks riders off so he is given away for free on the internet as a companion horse

• the ranch horse who gets hurt so is given to someone's child but the child loses interest so the horse is given to a summer camp but they don't want to have to feed him over the winter

• the race horse who doesn't win and is given to a seemingly good thoroughbred rescue who adopts them but the adoption falls through and the rescue won't take him back

• the very well bred baby horse with so much potential but kicks and bites and isn't given any training is he is deemed dangerous

• the senior horse with medical needs whose owner either can't or isn't willing to continue paying for their care

• and the ones who would end up at a good rescue but due to lack of funds the rescue isn't able to help
